If you’re looking for a versatile gelding with the talent to excel in the performance pen while still having the disposition to enjoy outside of the arena, this eye-catching 6 year old, 15.1h, grade(was told by his breeder he has Hollywood Dun It on his sires side), grullo, Quarter Horse could be your next one.
He is naturally athletic, with a great stop, nice transitions, and a smooth lope. Has lead changes but they need cleaning up. He has been exposed to cattle, has experience on the sled, has been roped off of, and is great at events. He’s fantastic on Norco trails and is virtually unphased by vehicles, semi-trucks, barking dogs, you name it. I trust him enough that I put my 1 year old daughter in my chest carrier and we hit the trails together! Super great horse to take to events. His old owner was 9 and did barrels on him and I’ve done local events with him consisting of relay races, barrels, poles, etc. He gets along great with other horses, trailers well, and is good for the farrier. His only vice is he can be a bit mouthy, not nasty, but he does try here and there. If you’re willing to put up with a little attitude on the ground he'll be the guy for you. Chip is a super sweet and fun little gelding. He has a quiet and calm personality. Chip gets along great with other horses, trailers well, ties well and is up to date on farrier, teeth and vaccines. Does good in the arena, but truly shines on the trails. He has been all over Norco and beyond. Dependable, brave, and very willing to try. Not for a total beginner, but a fun and easy ride for an intermediate rider. Just like his name implies, Chocolate Chip is a sweet and friendly little horse who would love nothing more than to find his forever person to bond with and to make memories with on the trail and beyond.
